“She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earning she plants a vineyard. She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. Proverbs 31:16-18
Here we have the Proverbs 31 woman walking confidently in her wisdom and business sense. She’s not making impulsive choices, she inspect the field first, weighing the values before making a purchase. Not only has she scouted a field to purchase, but she also plants a vineyard. She knows how to produce a return on her investment, if you know what I mean. A modern business woman if you asked me.
I want us to focus on the wisdom and knowledge it takes to make these types of decisions. The Proverbs 31 woman is resourceful and strategic; she’s intentional about multiplying what she’s been entrusted with.
There were many moments were Jesus made strategic decisions. His entire ministry was intentional:
From Devine appointments, like meeting the Samaritan woman at the well, to Fulfilling prophecies written long before His birth, such as the King riding on a donkey, every move He made had purpose. Christ is the ultimate example of strategic, yet profitable decision making.
Today, let’s reflect on the kind of wisdom it takes to make strategic decisions. Ask yourself: Is what you’re spending your time on profitable, to you, your family, and the calling God has placed on your life?
And just to be clear, when we talk about being profitable, it goes much deeper than money. True profit is about value, the kind that draws you closer to the Lord and helps you grow in purpose, peace, and faith. That’s what truly matters.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for being present in my life. You are with me through every moment, even when I don’t think to acknowledge your presence you are still with me. God I ask that you would open my eyes and give me clarity on the things concerning myself, my family, and our future. Lord, grant me the discernment and strategy that allows me to make impactful moves. Place me on path that leads to you, I know that as long as I walk with you I’ll live a life of true value. In Jesus name, Amen.
