Day Four: Proverbs 31 Woman Deep Dive Devotional. Proverbs 31 Woman Guide
Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting. She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. Proverbs 31:19-20 NLT
Here we have the Proverbs 31 Woman working and giving.
I love that she’s a skillful woman, her hands are never idle. She doesn’t waste her talents, but uses them with purpose. One moment we see her creating with her hands, the next, we see those same hands reaching out to help others. What a powerful image of a heart that reflects the generosity and compassion of Christ. This is what we are called to do! (Matthew 24:34-40)
I know we are all in need of something. With the state of today’s economy, society, and health, everyone is facing some kind of lack. Yet how amazing is it to acknowledge that even in our own needs, there’s always someone whose need may be greater. It’s the juxtaposition of waiting for an answer in your own life while simultaneously being the answer in someone else’s. It’s the quiet confidence in knowing that God will always supply all your needs, so that no matter your circumstance, your heart can still overflow with the generosity of Christ.
The proverbs 31 woman was quite the philanthropists. In just a few verses, we see her working with her gifts, caring for her family, serving those around her, creating new things, and managing business. Through it all, we catch a clear image of Christ, selfless, compassionate, and intentional.
- Verses mentioned: Proverbs 31:19-20, Matthew 24:34-40
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your guiding me. Thank You for always supplying my needs, for meeting every need I have, both the ones I see and the ones I don’t. Now, God, I ask that You bless my hands. As I use them, let them be a help to Your people. May my hands produce work that changes the lives of Your children, and may everything I create bring glory to Your name. I love you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
